Highlights in Switzerland
Dear colleagues, dear readers interested in the subject of trauma, The first third of the year 2011 has already ended, and we are into the second trimester of our program. The months of May--September are a particularly special time for us in view of the many big names and experts in the field of trauma about to visit us. Over the course of the conversations we have had with numerous people interested in trauma since the beginning of this year, we have noticed that many of them are not aware of just how many representatives of the crème de la crème of the trauma world will be part of our program.
Let us therefore briefly introduce these internationally known big names of trauma research and trauma work, because otherwise we would get to hear from many of you around the end of the year, "Well, if only I had known who that speaker was, I certainly would have come"! So here they are, the luminaries who will stop by to disseminate their knowledge in our seminar events between May and September:

Larry Heller
He co-authored the book Crash Course and is an experienced SE teacher with a broad clinical and psychotherapeutical background. His new book on the inner struggle between fear and longing in Relationships will be published by Kösel Verlag in spring 2012. May 19-22 will be Larry Heller's first visit to Zurich after not having been here for three years. For everybody who did not yet get to meet him, it will be an opportunity to get a glimpse of his tremendous clinical and theoretical expertise, and for those who already met and appreciate him, it will be a chance to learn about his most recent material! Ellert Nijenhuis
In many areas of European trauma work, our Dutch colleague has come to be regarded as a virtual "shooting star" in the field of dissociation and in connection with complex traumatizations in particular. Although he is extremely difficult to book as a speaker, we will have the priviledge to have him with us in Zurich for the second time, where he will offer two days of training building on one another (June 16 and December 8). His work provides a valuable additional perspective with regard to facilitating working on highly complex structures in dissociated individuals. Information & Registration |

Marianne Bentzen
The Danish expert for body psychotherapy and spirituality will make keynote contributions to the third Zürcher Traumatage (TRAUMA AND SPIRITUALITY) from June 24 - 26. She is a pioneer in including spirituality in therapy and trauma work. Those of you who had the opportunity to experience Marianne Bentzen during the 2nd "Traumatage" or in one of her special-focus seminars will know the mastership of her contributions and how they are bound to leave a lasting impression with everybody involved! Bessel Van der Kolk
For a long time, Bessel Van der Kolk was regarded as 'the' trauma pope of the American and later of the entire community of trauma experts. In the meantime, the former Harvard professor has somewhat withdrawn from the very front, while being happy to continue sharing his immense knowledge on the phenomenon of trauma with those interested. For years we had unsuccessfully tried to bring him to Switzerland. Now, he has finally agreed to join the 5th Schweizer Bildungsfestival from August 20 - 23 in Weggis, and we warmly recommend him as one of the real highlights with a lot of experience in this multi-facetted area. In addition to his high academic merits, Bessel Van der Kolk's approach of the most recent years has been characterized by him integrating yoga as an important aspect of therapy for traumatized clients into his own clinical activities and by promoting this approach on an international basis. Luise Reddemann
Together with Bessel Van der Kolk and Peter Levine, the energetic fighter for the dignity and respect of and towards traumatized human beings will make a major contribution towards shaping this year's Bildungsfestival in Weggis. The unique constellation for this very special Trauma Conference at Lake Lucerne will definitely be strongly influenced by Luise Reddemann's personality. Luise Reddemann, Bessel Van der Kolk and Peter Levine making their appearance at one and the same event is definitely a novelty and will hardly ever repeat! Information & Registration |

Stephen Porges
After a four-year break, the man whose Polyvagal Theory caused many experts to completely revise their therapeutic perspective will join us once again in person. In an evening lecture on September 2, he will present the most recent insights in the development of the Polyvagal Theory and demonstrate where the legendary neuro theory led Stephen Porges' own clinical work—and how it has come to be integrated into various clinical approaches more and more. On September 3 and 4, Stephen Porges will then comment on the "neurophysiology of selfregulation" using his familiar ventral orientation. He will provide us with a superb and direct pioneering view of what can be expected to happen in the human body in the process of trying to reorganize itself in the aftermaths of life-changing experiences. Sue Carter
Stephen Porges' life and research partner has gained an international reputation in her own right based on her investigations into the "happinesss hormone", OXYTOCIN. On September 5, she will create a bridge between findings around the "neurobiology of love" from the animal kingdom and humankind. Her findings strongly support Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory. His new book, "In An Unspoken Voice", has been received internationally with the greatest praise he ever experienced so far. In his Swiss summer events, he will present his most recent perspective of his work and integrate it into the seminars in Weggis as well as in the Zürcher Traumatage (Zurich Trauma Conference) and the Schweizer Bildungsfestival in Weggis.
